We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Finance Department for a Chief Financial Officer with B. Com, B. Bus Sc or B. Acc in Accounting or Finance. CPA is a strong advantage with CIMA or SAICA registration.

This role will involve providing an effective risk management framework whilst effectively planning, implementing, and monitoring the organisation’s financial strategy in line with sound financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish a framework for financial budgeting and planning to achieve the business objectives
• Develop, maintain, and update legal, financial, and statutory SOP’s
• Exposure to Operational Management would be an advantage
• Must have ability and experience in participating in a multi-disciplinary decision-making body
• Strong knowledge and experience in Labour Law and related matters
• Ethical and Trustworthy
• Ensure annual audits are conducted accordingly with regards to finance, legal and statutory.
• Establish departmental budgetary requirements
• Establish the budget for cashflow requirements
• Align the cashflow to meet the business objectives
• Ensure the development and maintenance of SOP’s for sound Financial, IT and Fleet Management and that these are updated annually by the Head of Finance, Head of IT and Head of Fleet respectively
• Ensure fiduciary duties are fulfilled as required by law
• Communicate the budget, cashflow and forecast quarterly
• Oversee the submission of quarterly management reports
• Oversee the timeous submission of monthly financial reports
• Ensure that the Finance Team maintains, updates, and sends communication relating to: (current vs forecast)

1. Gross Profit
2. Liquidity
3. Net Profit
4. Return on Investments
5. Cost of Sales
6. Costing

• Ensure all financial indicators are monitored regularly
• Monitor the use of all external suppliers and freelancers in line with ILIOS Travel’s BBBEE, QMS and Compliance requirements
• Ensure that assets, buildings and equipment is adequately insured and regularly monitor, update and manage all forms of insurance
• Develop a guideline and SOP for the procurement of both services and goods, always ensuring that these guidelines are aligned to BBBEE goals
• Ensure that there is an annual budget for procurement and an SOP relating to the procurement
• Ensure regular reporting on management accounts, COS reports, IT Reports, Fleet reports, within the agreed time frame, are submitted by the Head of Finance, Head of IT and Head of Fleet respectively

Required experience:

• Com, B. Acc or B Bus Sci in Financial Management
• A qualified CA (SA) or CGMA registered with SAICA or CIMA
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Financial Management
• Exposure to Operational Management would be an advantage
• Must have ability and experience in participating in a multi-disciplinary decision making body
• Strong knowledge and experience in Labour Law and related matters
• Ethical and Trustworthy
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Proficient in financial management software
• Confidentiality and demonstrated disposition toward ethical and non-discriminatory behaviour that will act as a role model for others
• Ability to strategize and solve problems
• Excellent communications and people skills
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• An analytical mind, confident with numbers
