After an early morning collection from you hotel, travel inland via Pietermaritzburg to the Natal Midlands.

Sani Pass

Arrive at the foothills of the Southern Drakensburg Mountain and board a 4x4 for your journey up the treacherous Sani Pass. Travel up the steep and spectacular mountain pass, climbing over 1332 m in altitude to reach the "Roof of Africa". As you rise over the escarpment you will cross over the mountainous Kingdom of Lesotho.

Traditional Basotho Village

Upon arrival in Lesotho, visit Makhapung - a traditional Basotho Village - and learn about the local peoples traditions and ways of life. The secluded village, situated high in the mountains, is home to some 230 Basotho people who have made a conscious effort to maintain their traditional lifestyle and culture. Taste some local beer and bread and enjoy traditional song and dance before returning to the boarder.

Sani Pass Mountain Lodge

Before your descend back down Sani Pass, stop to have lunch at the highest pub in Africa - Sani Mountain Lodge. The pub is located at the top of the Sani Pass trail and sits a whopping 2874m above sea level. Enjoy a delicious lunch with incredible views over the majestic mountain ranges that surround the pub. After lunch, descend back down Sani Pass, into South Africa before returning to Durban. The tour ends with drop off at your hotel.
