Lesedi Cultural Village
Depart your hotel and travel to the Lesedi Cultural Village is a multi-cultural village set amongst the pristine bushveld and rocky hills less than an hours drive north of Johannesburg. Upon arrival at Lesedi, you are welcomed to the Ndebele village before settling down to a fascinating presentation on the history of South Africas rainbow nation. You are then taken on a guided tour of each of the cultural villages, where you can learn all about the various rituals and folklore of different South African cultures like the Zulus with their fighting sticks and cosy beehive huts, the Xhosa with their perfectly thatched rondavels and distinctive white blankets, the rhythmic drums and whistles of the Pedi tribe, the conical straw hats and thick, coloured blankets of the Basotho and the colourful homes of the Ndebele. Traditional songs and dances round off the days activities, followed by a buffet dinner of traditional fare fit for a king, hosted in the 200-seater Nyama Choma restaurant. Put your taste buds to the test by digging into some impala, ostrich or crocodile meat then gather around the open fire at the end of the evening to listen to tales of African mythology. The tour ends with drop off at hotel in the evening.
